Following our recent post about The Royal Society’s study in relation to the influence of the EU on research, including research funding in the UK and the result of the EU Referendum, there have been a number of statements and announcements from official sources offering some clarity and reassurances. Jo Johnson, Minister of State for Universities and Science, today issued a statement on higher education and research following the EU referendum.
Several organisations have posted initial reactions to the referendum result, Universities Scotland, Universities UK, The Royal Society (updated from our previous post) and the
European University Association.
Our Principal, Professor Ferdinand von Prondzynski issued a statement on the referendum result on Friday last week. Similar reassuring messages came from all the Universities across Scotland:
Edinburgh Napier University
Glasgow Caledonian University
Scottish Funding Council
University of Aberdeen
University of Edinburgh
University of Glasgow
University of St Andrews
University of Stirling
University of the Highlands and Islands
University of the West of Scotland
Scotland Europa are monitoring events closely and are an additional source of news about events in Europe impacting upon research in Scotland as a result of the referendum.
