Energy Catalyst round 4: Technology innovation is needed to solve the global energy sector ‘trilemma’ of: low carbon, security of supply and affordability.  We are looking for innovative solutions in any technology or sector area. Cutting the costs of wave energy: Wave Energy Scotland is seeking business projects that look at ways of building wave energy converters with alternative materials that could significantly reduce the overall cost of producing energy from waves. EDF Energy inspection Innovation Challenge
: Businesses and consortia can apply for up to £10,000 to develop new inspection methods for nuclear reactors and offshore wind farms. Find out more and apply >

Innovation in infrastructure systems: Innovate UK is to invest up to £15 million in projects that will develop solutions to challenges in the infrastructure systems sector including: affordable, sustainable and secure energy, connected transport, urban living and integrated infrastructure. Low emission freight and logistics trial: The Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) and Innovate UK are to invest up to £24 million to enable industry-led research trials and development of innovative vehicles or on-vehicle technology. These need to provide real-world emissions reductions. This is for the freight, logistics, utilities and emergency industries.
