Funding Opportunity: Engineering and Built Environment Visiting Professorships

Royal Academy of Engineering welcomes applications from all areas within Engineering. We encourage applications from minority and under-represented groups in engineering, especially from women. The visiting professors scheme  supports the appointment of senior industrial engineers as Visiting Professors at UK universities.         This industry-into-academia initiative aims to utilise the experience of the Visiting Professor to  enhance student learning, enhance the employability and skills of UK engineering graduates, deliver face to face teaching and mentoring at the host university.  The scheme is now open for applications with a deadline of 4pm Monday 23rd May 2016. This year the Happold Foundation has provided additional funding to support one additional Visiting Professor in the Built Environment.

The next round of the Distinguished Visiting Fellowships scheme is now open for applications. The deadline is 4pm on 18th April 2016.  The aim of the scheme is to help UK universities to build capacity and promote collaborations by facilitating visits by distinguished international experts. It provides funding to enable an academic engineering department in a UK university to be a host for up to a month to a Distinguished Visiting Fellow from an overseas academic centre of excellence. Details here. This will be the only call for the DVF scheme for visits taking place in the 2016/17 financial year. The subsequent round will open in February 2017.
